Kiwi Tracking Dog!

Today, we had a very special visitor - Choccie the Kiwi tracking dog! She finds Kiwi in the bush so that her owner can monitor the Kiwi and look after their eggs to make sure they hatch. This helps our Kiwi to survive.

Native and Exotic Trees in Maungatapu School Grounds

On Thursday, we went for a walk around school with our buddies in Room 16. They showed us some native and exotic trees in and around our school. The native trees included Pohutukawa, Golden Totara, Kowhai, Rimu, Titoki, Karaka, Celery Pine, Palm and Puriri trees. The exotic trees were Australian Gum, Prince of India, Dogwood, Cherry, Oak, Walnut, Magnolia and Avocado trees. See if you can spot any in our photos below! We are going to find out more about these trees and make a book about them for our school library!
